Renewal can begin 15 days before the credential expires, following the renewal schedule based on the level and type of investigation:

• Annual renewal for detectives of Class 07, 06, and 05.
• Biennial renewal for detectives of Class 04.
• Triennial renewal for detectives of Class 03.
• Quadrennial renewal for detectives of Class 02.
• Quinquennial renewal for detectives of Class 01.

The renewal fee is $15, covering the administrative costs of searching, reviewing, and verifying the provided information.

The following requirements must be submitted for renewal:

1. Detective Identification Number.
2. Updated and DIFFERENT photo from the one provided during the initial credential creation process, showing each side of the identity document or passport.
3. Current residential address including house number, city, and country.
4. Updated digital photo (passport-style) including shoulders with a solid-colored background, preferably white. The detective should be dressed formally. This photo must be different from the one submitted during the initial credential creation process.
5. Recent utility bill (electricity, water, phone, or internet) from the last three months in the detective’s name. If not available, a relative’s bill with proof of relationship is required.
6. Exit permit or a certificate of NO criminal record (digital). The document must be updated within the last three months.
7. Front-facing photo showing the detective’s face along with their passport or identity document. This photo must be different from the one submitted during the initial credential creation process.
8. Signed Responsibility Waiver for the misuse and scanning of the credential, with the identity document attached.
9. Location verification of the detective on two random occasions. The detective will need to send their location twice to verify the address. The process will not proceed until verification is completed. If there is any suspicion of falsification, a video transmission for verification may be requested multiple times.

The credential creation process may take between 7 to 30 business days.

The credential will be delivered digitally in two formats:

1. Photo format: A combined image showing both the front and back of the credential. This can be stored on a mobile device, and the QR code enables online verification.
2. Illustrator format: A document suitable for printing on PVC material at any credential printing service (standard global dimensions for credential printing).
