Organization of subjects and modules of the detective course

Estimated reading: 6 minutes 312 views

The organization is based on the General Guidelines of the Training Program of the Detective Course, structured around cross-cutting and specific competencies through academic credits managed by Agentes Privados Moch.

In response to a society that demands new challenges in higher education within the field of Private Investigation, MOCH Incorporated, taking advantage of the enormous possibilities of ICTs, has undertaken the mission of training high-quality professionals through a competency-based educational model, implemented through academic credits, so that they can be integrated into an increasingly competitive global labor market.

The aim is to move towards common training spaces following the principles expressed in the Bologna Declaration, which facilitate student mobility according to their competencies.

In this new educational approach, two key terms are introduced:

1.- Cross-cutting and specific competencies

2.- Academic credits

These define the Curricular Structure of the subjects in our course, based on the highest standards of education and professional training. All subjects are grouped into 10 Subject Development Modules, and in each subject we have:

Element {TEXT}

This element refers to texts that may be:

– PAGE: a sheet of written content.

– BOOK: containing several sheets of written content.

This is a written section with exclusive course content, intended to provide practical knowledge for the detective’s training. Reading control of this section is automatically evaluated by the course’s educational system, meaning that if the student reviews the text too quickly or inadequately, the system will prevent further progress in the course until proper review of this educational element has been completed. Completion of this section IS NOT GRADED.

Element {ATTACHMENT}

This section includes explanatory videos and audios. The audios and videos may not be fully aligned with the current concepts of the course, but have been published for their informational and reflective value regarding the topic being developed. The system does not automatically control the review of audio or video since this is a purely OPTIONAL activity; its content is not part of any evaluation. Completion of this section IS NOT GRADED.

Element {ROUTINE}

This section consists of implementing work routines or detective training exercises on certain necessary skills and abilities.

This section is not controlled automatically by the system. Consider that many routines and strategies are optional learning activities; therefore, they are part of the study material for the final module exam called {FINAL KNOWLEDGE TEST}. Completion of this section IS NOT GRADED, but its content is part of the study material.

Element {REVIEW}

In this section, the student will review documents, environments, information, articles, and descriptions of elements.

This section IS GRADED MANUALLY by the assigned professor, and its methodology and content are part of the study material.

Element {EXERCISE}

This element contains exercises the detective must carry out, such as essays, summaries, or research papers, which are practical exercises for applying knowledge, models, and detective strategies, based on examples with development instructions.

This section IS GRADED MANUALLY by the assigned professor. Its content IS NOT part of the study material for the final exam.

Element {QUICK TEST}

In this section, the student will take a quick knowledge test on a specific topic such as:

1.- A review of a {TEXT} element of the course.

2.- A specific topic from the guidebook: 10 Modules to Become a Detective, 2nd Edition.

This test consists of quick-response questions with a short response time, and the GRADING IS AUTOMATICALLY PERFORMED by the platform system. To successfully pass the test, the student must achieve a minimum score of ninety percent correct answers.

Element {FINAL KNOWLEDGE TEST}

Finally, we have the final exam of each course module, which contains questions on:

1.- The {TEXT}, {ROUTINE}, {REVIEW}, {EXERCISE} sections of the exam module.

2.- The topics covered in the corresponding module of the guidebook: 10 Modules to Become a Detective, 2nd Edition.

To successfully pass the {FINAL KNOWLEDGE TEST}, a grade above seventy percent (70%) correct answers is required.

The purpose of this element is not to keep the student stuck in an exam but rather to serve as a method of self-assessment of knowledge.

This element is automatically graded by the system, where the student must obtain a minimum score of 80 out of 100 to pass the module and continue with the course.

If the student fails to achieve this grade, the system blocks a new attempt for a period of 12 hours. We acknowledge that this period can cause stress for the student, but we remind them that this course design seeks to ensure knowledge acquisition rather than superficial review.

EXPLANATORY NOTES

-NOTE 1: In each chapter of the course and the guidebook, references are made to other books on specific topics. No questions will be asked outside of the guidebook and the subjects included in the course.

-NOTE 2: Once all 10 modules are completed, the course management will forward all {REVIEW} and {EXERCISE} elements to an assigned professor for review and grading.

-NOTE 3: If, during the professor’s review, the work has not been submitted or receives a score of less than 80 points out of 100, the course completion process will be suspended indefinitely. The student will be asked to repeat the element, and the submission of this corrected work will be reviewed within 1 to 3 weeks after resubmission.

-NOTE 4: We strongly encourage students to complete these activities with full dedication and effort to avoid repeating them, as repetition will cause significant delays in course completion and in obtaining the diploma and credential.

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY MODEL

Online education regulations state that new attempts must occur within 24 hours of the first failed attempt, 48 hours after the second attempt, and 7 days after the third attempt.

In our course, we have designed our own standard where a new attempt can be made every 12 hours. We structured it this way because we believe this is the minimum necessary time for the student to thoroughly review all content and pass the exam.

With these supervised, optional, voluntary, and mandatory activities, we demonstrate our intention to provide a comprehensive professional education. Additionally, in each course module we have two evaluation systems:

1.- {QUICK TEST}: This system is fast, promoting quick, superficial, and effective comprehension, encouraging fast thinking.

2.- {FINAL KNOWLEDGE TEST}: This system of evaluation is solid, broad, and profound, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the module that fosters complex thinking.
